Omega-3 fatty acids – the ‘good fats’
Omega-3 fatty acids are found primarily in sea fish and are a key reason why fish is considered so healthy. As essential fatty acids, omega-3s must be obtained through diet. From the foetal stage right through to old age, an adequate supply of omega-3 is of great importance for our well-being and development (see nutritional properties). As we obtain the majority of our omega-3 from animal products, those following a plant-based diet should pay particular attention to their omega-3 intake.
Vegan omega-3 – animal-free from the algae Schizochytrium
Vegan omega-3 is produced from the algae Schizochytrium
. Using an environmentally friendly process, the oil is extracted from the
algae in an artificial seawater tank. The artificial
seawater also ensures the purity and quality
of the product, as there are no pollutants in the water.
Vegan Omega is highly concentrated, containing 175 mg of EPA and 310 mg of DHA per capsule
.
Rosemary and mixed tocopherols also ensure that the
omega-3 does not oxidise, thus extending its shelf life.
Nutritional properties
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and to the maintenance of normal vision (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA).
- EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA + EPA).
- Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands
Podo medi's products are significantly influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey. However, he has been retired since 2020, which is why the "Woscha" brand has become the "natura felix" brand. The tried-and-tested recipes will remain largely the same. In addition to the logo, the packaging of many products will change significantly. The company is increasingly switching from plastic to more environmentally friendly cardboard cans.
