What are salvestrols?

Salvestrols belong to the group of secondary plant compounds known as phytoalexins. Secondary plant compounds are substances produced by plants to protect themselves against bacteria, insects, mould, UV light and viruses .

The discovery of salvestrols and their importance

Professor Burke from the UK described the discovery of salvestrols as ‘the most significant breakthrough in nutrition since the discovery of vitamins’. Dr John Briffa also named salvestrols as the best idea in the health sector.
Nowadays, fruit and vegetables are usually treated with pesticides, which means that the plant loses the incentive to produce salvestrols. One of the reasons for this is that our diet contains very few salvestrols.
Nowadays, however, salvestrols are only found in significant quantities in organically grown fruit and vegetables. It is advisable to consume Salvestrol® daily.

The Salvestrol points system:

Researchers at Nature’s Defence have developed a points system to calculate the amounts of salvestrols in our diet and ensure an adequate intake. The Salvestrol points system is based on the daily minimum amount of salvestrol found in the Victorian era (1837 to 1901).
In the 19th-century diet, 12 mg of salvestrols equalled 100 points. The minimum amount that should be consumed daily for good health is equivalent to 100 salvestrol points. Today, we consume an average of 2 mg (17 points) through our diet .

Ingredients

Salvestrol® fruit complex (citrus bioflavonoid extract, kabocha pumpkin (Curcubita maxima) extract, grape (Vitis vinifera) extract), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule shell), rice flour (filler).

Recommended intake

Take 1 capsule twice daily with a glass of water at mealtimes. If you are unable to swallow capsules: open the capsule and stir the contents into full-fat yoghurt.

Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the fridge).
