What is D‑Galactose?
D‑Galactose is a naturally occurring simple sugar (monosaccharide) and a component of various natural metabolic processes in the body. It is, among other things, a natural component of breast milk and is also found in foods such as fruit, vegetables, certain dairy products and seaweed.
As a component of carbohydrates, D‑Galactose plays a role in energy metabolism. In addition, it is a building block of complex cellular structures and occurs in various endogenous compounds.
