Sango coral: Mineral-rich supplement from Okinawa

Off the coast of Okinawa lies a limestone and coral reef area from which fossil Sango coral is obtained. What characterises Sango coral powder?

Balanced ratio of calcium to magnesium:

• Approximately 24% calcium and around 11.5% magnesium result in a ratio of roughly 2:1.
• Calcium supports normal bone and tooth function; magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and the nervous system.
• The 2:1 ratio is considered favourable as it can promote joint uptake and utilisation in the body.
  

Broad spectrum of minerals

In addition to the main minerals, numerous trace elements are present, including zinc, copper and iron. These elements are involved in a variety of metabolic processes and can support overall vitality.

Origin and extraction:

• Fossilised, long-dead coral deposits off Okinawa are used; living reefs remain untouched.
• Only raw materials with a laboratory-confirmed elevated magnesium content enter production.
• Extraction takes place in controlled zones at least 1 km off the coast and at depths of approximately 15 m.
• To ensure microbiological quality, the material is sterilised and dried at around 180–200 °C.

Minerals from the island’s water

Rainwater percolates through the limestone and coral structures, taking up ionised minerals such as calcium, magnesium and trace elements. This naturally mineralised well water has traditionally been used in Okinawa and is associated with wellbeing.

Ingredients

Recommended intake

3 x 1 measuring spoon (each 1 g) spread over the day (1 g corresponds to approx. 1/3 tsp); best to allow to mix with saliva in the mouth for 1 minute and then drink a glass of water, juice or tea, or stir into smoothies, drinks or muesli, etc.

If you have low stomach acid (common symptom: heartburn), take at least 1 hour apart from meals.

Tip: Combining with organic acids, e.g. from fermented products/drinks, facilitates absorption in the gut.
