WeihCuma® – The combination of AKBAmax® and curcuRouge®
The two patented branded raw materials AKBAmax®
and curcuRouge® complement each other ideally and are characterised by their
high bioavailability. Both raw materials have been
scientifically investigated and are used together in
our product WeihCuma®.
AKBAmax® contains, compared to
conventional frankincense extracts, a significantly higher proportion
of the boswellic acid AKBA and a standardised total content
of boswellic acids. CurcuRouge® was developed to improve the
absorption of curcuminoids in the body and is distinguished
by high solubility and stability.
What characterises AKBAmax®?
AKBAmax® is obtained from the resin of the Indian
frankincense tree (Boswellia serrata) and is standardised to a
minimum content of 10% AKBA. AKBA stands for
Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid, a naturally occurring
boswellic acid that is usually present only in
small amounts in conventional extracts.
Manufacturing takes place in India using solvent-free
extraction. Gassing and irradiation for sterilisation are
not used.
Where does the reddish colour of curcuRouge® come from?
curcuRouge® was developed after many years of research and is characterised by a special structure of the curcumin particles. Through a special manufacturing process, amorphous curcumin forms with improved solubility are created.
The characteristic reddish colour is produced
during a controlled heating and
cooling process. Afterwards the particles are stabilised using
a polymer matrix based on non-GM modified maize starch. The process does without polysorbates
and other commonly used excipients and follows a
so-called “clean-label” approach.
The curcumin used is obtained from sustainably cultivated Curcuma
longa by solvent-free alcohol extraction.
