WeihCuma® – The combination of AKBAmax® and curcuRouge®
The two patented branded raw materials, AKBAmax®
and curcuRouge®, complement each other perfectly and are characterised by their
high bioavailability. Both raw materials have been
scientifically studied and are used together in
our product WeihCuma®.
Compared to
conventional frankincense extracts, AKBAmax® contains a significantly higher proportion
of the boswellic acid AKBA and a standardised total content
of boswellic acids. CurcuRouge® was developed to
improve the absorption of curcuminoids in the body and is
characterised by high solubility and stability.
What makes AKBAmax® stand out?
AKBAmax® is extracted from the resin of the Indian
frankincense tree (Boswellia serrata) and standardised to a
minimum content of 10% AKBA. AKBA stands for
acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid, a naturally occurring
boswellic acid, which is usually present only in
small quantities in conventional extracts.
It is manufactured in India using solvent-free
extraction. Gas treatment and irradiation for sterilisation are
not used.
Where does the reddish colour of curcuRouge® come from?
curcuRouge® was developed following many years of research and is characterised by a distinctive structure of the curcumin particles. A special manufacturing process produces amorphous forms of curcumin with improved solubility.
The characteristic reddish colour develops
during a controlled heating and
cooling process. The particles are then stabilised using
a polymer matrix based on genetically unmodified, modified
maize starch. The process does not require polysorbates
or other commonly used excipients and follows a
so-called ‘clean-label’ approach.
The curcumin used is obtained from sustainably grown Curcuma
longa via solvent-free alcohol extraction.
