Every Day 50+ for people over 50 who prefer capsules to tablets
Every Day 50+ capsules contain the same dosages per two
capsules as the Every Day 50+ tablets, with the exception of
vitamin C (100 mg instead of 200 mg) and magnesium (60 mg instead of 100
mg). These are present in lower doses in the capsules because more can fit into
one tablet than into two capsules. Calcium is not included
due to space constraints.
The body’s nutritional requirements change over the years. For example, the need for iron and copper decreases. 50+ Every Day therefore contains neither iron nor copper. What men and women in this age group do need, however, is additional vitamin B12 and sufficient folic acid (folate), amongst other things to support mental performance and memory. Higher doses of K2 and D3 are also important for this age group. To achieve this, a calcium-rich diet should be followed or, if this is not possible – for example, in the case of those with a milk allergy – calcium supplements should also be taken. Ideally combined with magnesium, as Ca and Mg should be absorbed in the same ratio. This ratio is optimal, for example, in Sango coral powder.
B vitamins in optimal doses
‘50+’ capsules contain 50 µg of vitamin B12 in the
biological forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. These
are significantly better than the cyanocobalamin added to many
dietary supplements and medicines. It’s cheap, which is great
for the manufacturers, but what’s less great is that, for example, when it’s
metabolised in the body, a small amount of cyanide is released,
as the name suggests.
Methylcobalamin is far superior because the body hardly
needs to convert it at all. It can now be found in many very good
dietary supplements. Adenosylcobalamin is even
better than methylcobalamin, but also considerably more expensive. So it’s all the more
reassuring that it has been added to 50+ every day.
Folic acid is included in the capsule as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. This form can be utilised by everyone, including the 50 per cent who, due to a widespread metabolic peculiarity, are unable to metabolise ‘normal’ folic acid, as found in lower-quality supplements. Bound to glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®). This binding with glutamic acid helps to keep the active form stable and ensures optimal absorption. The advantage of these active forms of B12 and folate is that they can be utilised directly by the body and do not need to be converted first.
High doses of vitamin D3 and K2
Vitamin K helps ensure that calcium ends up in the right place, namely in the bones. This is important for this age group. ‘Every Day 50+’ contains 45 µg of K1 (phytomenadione) and no less than 90 µg of vitamin K2. Vitamin D is also important for this age group and is particularly vital for bone health, helping to prevent age-related osteoporosis.

We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: The highest quality, consistent omission of superfluous additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatine, very good value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and therefore also to customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of manufacturers of food supplements that are now on the market. But we have managed to find them again, with Vitals from the Netherlands!
