Jeden Tag 50+ for people over 50 who prefer capsules to tablets

Jeden Tag 50+ capsules contain the same dosages per two capsules as the product Jeden Tag 50+ tablets, with the exception of vitamin C (100 mg instead of 200 mg) and magnesium (60 mg instead of 100 mg). These are lower dosed in the capsules because more fits into one tablet than into two capsules. Calcium is not included due to space constraints.

The body’s nutrient requirements change with the years. For example, the need for iron and copper decreases. Therefore Jeden Tag 50+ contains neither iron nor copper. What men and women in this age group do require is additional vitamin B12 and sufficient folate, among other things to support mental performance and memory. Higher doses of K2 and D3 are also important for this age group. A calcium-rich diet is recommended for this purpose or, if that is not possible (e.g. in people with a milk allergy), the use of calcium supplements. Ideally combined with magnesium, since Ca and Mg should be taken in the same ratio. This ratio is, for example, optimal in Sango coral powder.

B vitamins in an optimal dose

Jeden Tag 50+ capsules contain 50 µg vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. These are significantly better than the cyanocobalamin included in many dietary supplements and medicinal products. That is cheap and nice for manufacturers, but less desirable is, for example, that a small amount of cyanide is released during its metabolism in the body, as the name already suggests.
Methylcobalamin is considerably better because the body hardly needs to convert it. This is now found in many very good dietary supplements. Adenosylcobalamin is even better than methylcobalamin, but also considerably more expensive. All the more pleasing that it has been added to Jeden Tag 50+.

Folate is provided as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate in the capsule. This form can be utilised by all people, including the 50% who, due to a widespread metabolic peculiarity, cannot utilise the "normal" folic acid as found in less good dietary supplements. It is bound to a glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®). This binding with glutamic acid enables the active form to be kept stable and ensures optimal absorption. The advantage of these active forms of B12 and folate is that they can be used directly by the body and do not first have to be converted.

High doses of vitamin D3 and K2

Vitamin K helps ensure that calcium ends up in the right place, namely in the bones. This is important for this age group. Jeden Tag 50+ contains 45 µg K1 (phytomenadione) and no less than 90 µg vitamin K2. Vitamin D is also important for this age group and is particularly important for bone health to help prevent age-related osteoporosis.

Recommended use

Take 2 capsules per day with water at a meal. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily intake. This dietary supplement is not suitable for children up to and including 10 years of age (mandatory notice for products that contain more than 20 µg vitamin D per daily dose).

Caution

Because this product contains vitamin K, it is not suitable for simultaneous use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon). These medicines are also referred to as vitamin K antagonists and their effectiveness is reduced by the intake of vitamin K through food and dietary supplements.

This dietary supplement should only be used by adults; it is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
