Shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinula edodes)
AHCC® has been produced by the renowned Japanese company Amino Up Co. since 1989 using a fermentation process that has been continually refined over the years. It is assumed that the same starter culture is used for each production. This ensures that the final product is of high quality and consistently has the same composition. A patented process ensures a high alpha-glucan content. These are polysaccharides that occur only in small amounts in shiitake mushrooms. The fermentation lasts approximately forty days. The shiitake mushroom is cultivated on a unique liquid growth medium made from rice bran. During fermentation the shiitake converts components of the medium into other nutrients. This results in the unique composition of AHCC®, which differs from conventionally dried shiitake mushrooms. After forty days the insoluble cellular components are separated by centrifugation. A liquid (“supernatant”) forms that is rich in alpha-glucans and other nutrients. After the spray-drying process AHCC® powder is ultimately produced, which can be filled into capsules. The manufacturing method ensures that the delicate natural constituents of the extract are preserved.

Ingredients
Shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinula edodes), rapeseed oil (Brassica rapa), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented cassava starch), dextrin, bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose [cellulose gel]), alpha-cyclodextrin.
Recommended use
Take 1 capsule twice daily with water at mealtimes. If required, take 3 capsules twice daily.
