Shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinula edodes)
AHCC® is a product of the renowned Japanese company Amino Up Co., which has been manufacturing it since 1989 using a fermentation process that has been continuously refined over the years. It is understood that the same starter culture is used in every production run. This ensures a consistent composition and high quality of the final product. A patented process ensures a high alpha-glucan content. These are polysaccharides that occur naturally in shiitake mushrooms only in small quantities. Fermentation takes approximately forty days. The shiitake mushroom is cultivated on a specially developed liquid nutrient medium made from rice bran. During the fermentation process, the shiitake mushroom transforms the components of the medium into other nutrients. This results in the unique composition of AHCC®, which cannot be compared with conventionally dried shiitake mushrooms. After a period of forty days, the insoluble cell components are separated by centrifugation. This produces a liquid (‘supernatant’) with a high content of alpha-glucans and other nutrients. Following spray-drying, this is ultimately processed into AHCC® powder, which can be filled into capsules. The manufacturing process ensures that the sensitive natural components of the extract are preserved.

Shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinula edodes), turnip oil (Brassica rapa), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented cassava starch), dextrin, bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose [cellulose gel]), alpha-cyclodextrin.
Recommended intake
Take 1 capsule twice a day with water at mealtimes. If required, take 3 capsules twice a day.
