Biotin for skin, hair, energy and mental health
Biotin, also known as vitamin B8, acts as a coenzyme for carboxylase enzymes. These are involved, among other things, in the metabolism of protein, fat and carbohydrates. It thus helps to obtain energy from food. Biotin is also important for normal psychological function, as it supports brain and nerve functions associated with memory, concentration and mood. It is also important for healthy mucous membranes, skin and hair.
Biotin cooperates closely, among others, with folate, vitamin B5 and vitamin B12. If you use or recommend biotin, prefer combining it with a multivitamin or a vitamin B complex.
