The basis of Elemental Zinc & Copper are concentrated mineral drops

“concentrated mineral drops” or CMD, a special seawater concentrate from the Great Salt Lake (Utah, USA). It provides the full spectrum of minerals and trace elements (almost completely freed of sodium and additionally containing zinc in the form of zinc sulfate and copper as copper gluconate). This product is produced by a traditional and natural concentration process using solar energy.

The trace elements and minerals in the product Elemental Zinc & Copper are present as electrolytes in dissolved and ionic form. This means that they do not occur together with other elements, but as individual electrically charged particles. For example, when magnesium chloride (MgCl2) dissolves in water it dissociates into the ions Mg2+ (positively charged magnesium) and Cl- (negatively charged chloride). Minerals also occur in our body in this way, dissolved in intra- and extracellular fluids such as blood plasma. Therefore, minerals that are present in ionic form are easily absorbed.

About zinc and copper and their effects on health

Zinc is present in all body tissues and is particularly found in cell nuclei. The mineral is essential for the function of over 300 enzymes, the metalloenzymes that use a zinc ion as a cofactor. It also forms an important component of cell membranes and of proteins. In this way, zinc is involved in numerous processes in the body, such as the cell division process and the hormonal balance. Zinc also plays a role in the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, proteins and DNA. Zinc has a positive effect on the immune system by supporting T‑cell production, promoting cytokine production and contributing to the function of natural killer cells. Zinc also helps to protect cells from oxidative damage, among other things through its function in the antioxidant enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Furthermore, it promotes a healthy acid–base balance. Zinc functions as a cofactor for the enzyme carbonic anhydrase, which catalyses the conversion of carbon dioxide into bicarbonate (and vice versa). Bicarbonate is one of the most important buffers used to keep the acidity of the blood and other extracellular fluids as constant as possible. Copper is present in various enzymes and contributes, among other things, to the activity of certain enzymes involved in the release of energy from fats, carbohydrates and proteins. In addition, copper is involved in the production of collagen and elastin, the components of connective tissue. Thus it contributes to healthy connective tissue in blood vessels, skin and cartilage.

Zinc and copper are in an antagonistic relationship with each other. If zinc intake over a longer period (more than one month) is 50 mg per day or more, this can lead to a decrease in copper levels. Zinc and copper are combined in this product.

Ingredients

Purified water, seawater concentrate (CMD), zinc sulfate, copper gluconate, preservative (potassium benzoate [<0.1 %]).

Recommended intake

Take 1 ml per day using the Opti‑Dose dropper (1 pipette = 1 ml). Add the drops to (approx. 200 ml) water, fruit juice or food. Take with a meal. Shake before use.

Store in a cool, dry place protected from light (do not refrigerate).
