Elemental Zinc & Copper, 60 ml

Elementares Zinc & Copper is based on concentrated mineral drops

‘concentrated mineral drops’ or CMD, a special seawater concentrate from the Great Salt Lake (Utah, USA). It provides the full spectrum of minerals and trace elements (almost completely free of sodium and also contains zinc in the form of zinc sulphate, as well as copper in the form of copper gluconate). This product is produced using a traditional and natural concentration process powered by solar energy.

The trace elements and minerals in the product ‘Elementares Zinc & Copper’ are present as electrolytes in dissolved and ionic form . This means that they do not occur together with other elements, but as individual electrically charged particles.  When magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) is dissolved in water, for example, it breaks down into the ions Mg²⁺ (positively charged magnesium) and Cl⁻ (negatively charged chloride).  This is how minerals are also found in our bodies, dissolved in intra- and extracellular fluids such as blood plasma. Therefore, minerals present in ionic form are easily absorbed.

On zinc and copper and their effects on health

Zinc is present in all body tissues and is found particularly in the cell nuclei. This mineral is essential for the function of over 300 enzymes – the metalloenzymes – which use a zinc ion as a cofactor.  It also forms an essential component of cell membranes and proteins . In this way, zinc is involved in numerous processes within the body, such as cell division and hormonal balance. Zinc also plays a role in the normal synthesis and breakdown of carbohydrates, fats, proteins and DNA. Zinc has a positive effect on the immune system by supporting T-cell production, promoting cytokine production and contributing to the function of natural killer cells.  Zinc also helps to protect cells from oxidative damage, partly through its role in the antioxidant enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD). Furthermore, it promotes a healthy acid-base balance.  Zinc acts as a cofactor for the enzyme carbonic anhydrase, which catalyses the conversion of carbon dioxide into bicarbonate (and vice versa) .  Bicarbonate is one of the most important buffers, serving to keep the acidity of the blood and other extracellular fluids as constant as possible.  Copper is found in various enzymes and contributes, amongst other things, to the activity of certain enzymes involved in energy production from fats, carbohydrates and proteins .  Furthermore, copper is involved in the production of collagen and elastin, the components of connective tissue, and thus contributes to healthy connective tissue in blood vessels, skin and cartilage.

Zinc and copper have an antagonistic relationship with one another. If zinc intake exceeds 50 mg per day for an extended period (more than one month), this may lead to a reduction in copper levels. Zinc and copper are combined in this product.

Vitals, our new brand from 2025

We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: The highest quality, consistent omission of superfluous additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatine, very good value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and therefore also to customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of manufacturers of food supplements that are now on the market. But we have managed to find them again, with Vitals from the Netherlands!

35 mg.
