Every day base, 60 tablets

The everyday multivitamin

The formula for ‘Every Day Basis’ has recently been updated, based on new research findings, the latest data from the National Nutrition Monitoring Programme (NEMONIT) and new legislation. As a result, the amounts of certain vitamins and minerals have been adjusted; vitamin B6 and manganese are no longer included.

‘Jeden Tag Basis’ is a carefully developed multivitamin supplement designed specifically for young, healthy people as a basic dietary supplement. As with all products in the Jeden Tag range, care has been taken here to use easily absorbable ingredients, appropriate formulations and responsibly balanced amounts. When determining the amounts of each nutrient, the average intake among adolescents and young adults as well as the estimated daily requirement were taken into account in order to provide the best possible support for health. To this end, up-to-date information and the latest scientific findings were consulted.

‘Every Day Basic’ contains only vitamins and minerals, with no other additives. As this multivitamin supplement does not contain vitamin B6, it is also suitable for people who wish to avoid vitamin B6 supplements for specific reasons. The amount of iodine has been deliberately kept low to cater for people who wish to limit their iodine intake .

B vitamins in ‘Jeden Tag Basis’

‘Every Day Basic’ contains appropriate amounts of B vitamins. It uses the active (coenzymatic) forms of vitamin B2 (sodium riboflavin-5’-phosphate), B12 (methyl- and adenosylcobalamin) and folic acid (5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt). These are precisely the forms that the body can utilise.

Very high dose of choline (VitaCholine®)

Choline has long been a component of multivitamin preparations, but was usually added only in small amounts (10–30 mg). This was because, at the time, little was known about its importance to the body and the amount required. Thanks to new research findings, we now know much more about this important micronutrient.

In 2012, the European Commission authorised three health claims for choline, provided that at least 82.5 mg is consumed per day. Choline helps the body to metabolise fats and homocysteine normally and to maintain liver function.

In 2016, the EFSA classified choline as an essential nutrient and set a daily requirement of 400 mg for adults, based on typical European intake. In the USA, by contrast, a daily intake of 550 mg is recommended, supported by human studies. As the average choline intake in Europe ranges between 290 and 470 mg per day, many adults do not consume enough choline. This highlights the need to include an appropriate amount of choline in daily multivitamin supplements. The ‘Every Day’ multivitamins use VitaCholine® for this purpose, a high-quality and well-researched form of choline.

Plenty of vitamin D3 from plants

European authorities recommend a daily vitamin D intake of 15 μg from food. However, there is growing evidence to suggest that higher amounts would be better. That is why ‘Every Day’ Basic contains a generous 20 μg per tablet. This vitamin D3 (Vitamin D3V®) is derived from plants, not sheep’s wool, and is therefore also suitable for vegans.

Vitamins K1 and K2: related, but not interchangeable

The recommended amounts of vitamin K relate only to what is necessary for blood clotting. However, they do not take into account how much vitamin K would be ideal for other bodily functions. Furthermore, these recommendations make no distinction between vitamin K1 and K2, although research is increasingly focusing on this distinction.

The ‘Every Day’ multivitamins contain both types of vitamin K. Vitamin K1 is largely absorbed by the liver and is primarily responsible for activating clotting factors in the liver. Vitamin K2 (particularly in the form of menaquinone-7) remains in the body for longer, is distributed more effectively throughout the tissues and can therefore better activate proteins outside the liver that are dependent on vitamin K, such as osteocalcin and MGP. These proteins are important for ensuring that calcium is properly stored in the body, namely in the bones. Healthy bones become increasingly important as we age.

‘Jeden Tag Basis’ contains 30 μg of vitamin K1 (phytomenadione) and 60 μg of vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (MK-7), which is the superior form .

K2VITAL™ DELTA: A particularly stable form of vitamin K2

Vitamin K2 is sensitive. Particularly when it is combined with calcium and/or magnesium in tablets or capsules, the amount decreases significantly. It is difficult to use vitamin K2 in products that contain high levels of these minerals. That is why Vitals uses the special active ingredient K2VITAL™ DELTA, which remains stable even in products with high mineral content.

K2VITAL™ DELTA is produced using a special process, in which the fat-soluble K2 particles are coated with two layers to protect them from other ingredients. Vitals Vitals has had the stability of K2VITAL™ DELTA tested by an independent laboratory. The results showed it to be the most stable of various vitamin K2 products.

Natural calcium and magnesium from the sea

Aquamin® magnesium is sourced from the seawater of the Irish Sea and Aquamin® calcium from red algae (Lithothamnion sp). These algae absorb minerals and trace elements from the seawater and store them. Living red algae are red-pink in colour, but when they die, they calcify and turn white or light grey.

Aquamin® contains a relatively high proportion of calcium (32%) and magnesium (35%) compared to other calcium and magnesium products. This makes it possible to use effective amounts even in very comprehensive multivitamin preparations without impairing absorption by the body. The effective absorption of calcium and magnesium from Aquamin® has been scientifically proven. It is conceivable that the naturally occurring small amounts of other minerals and trace elements also contribute to this.

Iron, zinc and copper are present as amino acid chelates (bisglycinates)

In this form, each mineral ion is firmly bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. This form reaches the small intestine easily and is absorbed very effectively by the body. Furthermore, these minerals are particularly gentle on the stomach, which is especially important in the case of iron . Vitals specifically uses amino acid chelates from Albion® Minerals, which bear the TRAACS® seal, standing for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System. This quality seal clearly distinguishes them from potentially inferior, unstable chelates.

Vitals, our new brand from 2025

We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: The highest quality, consistent omission of superfluous additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatine, very good value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and therefore also to customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of manufacturers of food supplements that are now on the market. But we have managed to find them again, with Vitals from the Netherlands!

Manufacturer's address: Vitals Voedingssupplementen BV, Pieter Lieftinckweg 29, 1505 HX Zaandam, Netherlands. E-mail: customer service@vitals.eu.
