Digestive power from the guar bean
In various regions of India, even in areas of extreme drought, the guar plant (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) is cultivated. In India, the leaves and beans of this plant have been consumed for millennia. Guar beans provide a high amount of soluble prebiotic fibre. Sunfiber® is used in guar bean fibres from Vitals. This is the brand name for guar bean fibres that acquire their high-quality, user-friendly properties such as excellent water solubility through a natural fermentation process. Sunfiber®-fermented guar bean fibres are regarded worldwide as the perfect dietary fibres!
What are fibres or dietary fibre?
Dietary fibres consist of long chains of carbohydrates made up of 10 or more monosaccharides that cannot be broken down by digestive enzymes in the human small intestine. Dietary fibre is essential for a healthy and varied diet. Fibres can be divided into two types: those that are water-soluble and those that are not water-soluble. Examples of water-soluble dietary fibres are guar bean fibre (galactomannan), inulin (FOS) and psyllium fibres. Wheat bran and fibres from other (whole grain) cereals are classed as insoluble dietary fibres. Fibres that are soluble in water are also referred to as prebiotics, as they can be fermented by the gut microbiota. The higher a fibre's solubility, the better it is fermented. In the gut microbiota, fermentation leads to the formation of metabolic products such as short-chain fatty acids, including butyrate, propionate and acetate. However, it is important that the fermentation process does not occur too quickly, as this can otherwise cause gas formation.
Sunfiber® from Taiyo
Sunfiber® displays the ideal properties of excellent water solubility and complete fermentation, which, however, does not occur too rapidly. The product is therefore very user-friendly, in contrast to psyllium fibres, which dissolve significantly less well in water, and inulin, which ferments very quickly. Sunfiber® is produced by Taiyo. The company is a world leader and is regarded as an expert in guar bean fibres. Guar bean fibres normally form a gel in water. Therefore Taiyo has developed a special manufacturing process to improve the fibres' solubility. The gel formation is caused by the fibres of the guar bean consisting naturally of very long carbohydrate chains. Thanks to a fermentation process (in which a natural enzyme is added), the long chains are "pre-digested" into shorter chains, which improves their solubility. The carbohydrate chains should, however, not be too short, as they would otherwise ferment too quickly in the gut. Taiyo's unique production process achieves the optimal chain length, giving Sunfiber® its ideal properties. Sunfiber® is also made from guar bean fibres derived exclusively from conventionally cultivated, pesticide-free guar beans.

Ingredients
Fermented guar bean fibres (from Indian guar beans, Cyamopsis tetragonoloba).
Recommended intake
Take 1–2 level measuring spoons (5–10 grams) per day with a meal. Mix with (approx. 200 ml) water or another beverage. Leave the mixture for a short time so the fibres can fully dissolve. The fibres can also be added to foods (e.g. yoghurt), even warm dishes. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily intake.
A measuring spoon for 15 ml (approx. 5 grams) is included.
Limited shelf life after opening.
Storage instructions
Store in a cool, dry place protected from light (do not refrigerate).

Vitals, our new brand from 2025
We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: highest quality, the consistent omission of unnecessary additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatin, excellent value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and thus to our customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of dietary supplement manufacturers now on the market. But we have once again managed to find one with Vitals from the Netherlands!
Address of the manufacturer: Vitals Voedingssupplementen BV, Pieter Lieftinckweg 29, 1505 HX Zaandam, Netherlands. E-mail: kundendienst@vitals.eu.
