Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies by Vitals – the new hit with children
These unique chew drops have been developed to contain a large amount of fish oil without tasting overly fishy (as can sometimes be the case with gummies or other fish-oil products). Consequently, one to two chew jelly drops per day are enough to take omega-3 fatty acids in an effective amount. In addition to a generous dose of the important omega-3 fatty acid DHA for the brain and vision, Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies also contain other essential nutrients such as iodine for healthy growth and good learning ability. Vitamin D is necessary for normal growth and the development of children’s bones. Vitamins C and D support immune resilience.
In short, these chewable dragees are an easy way to give your children extra nutrients every day as a supplement to a healthy diet. Also suitable for adults who do not like capsules and tablets and prefer a tasty, chewable supplement to get more nutrients such as DHA and vitamin D3.
Growing up healthy
For a child to grow up healthy, it needs not only unconditional parental love and a safe environment, but above all a healthy lifestyle. This starts with sufficient exercise (preferably often outdoors), restful sleep and a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables. In practical everyday life, however, it seems impossible for both children and adults to obtain every necessary nutrient in sufficient amounts every day. This applies especially to vitamin D, which occurs only in small amounts in food. For vitamin D we are essentially dependent on production in our skin under the influence of sunlight. In Western Europe, sunlight hours and intensity are often insufficient, especially in the autumn and winter months, so it can be sensible for many children and adults to supplement their diet with a vitamin D preparation.
Intake of the essential fish fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is often inadequate because many children (and adults) do not like fish. For Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies by Vitals, a generous amount of vitamin D3 and DHA (plus EPA) is therefore contained in each chew jelly drop. In addition they contain iodine, an essential trace element for growing children. And also some vitamin C for immune resilience.
DHA: Good for brain function and the eyes
Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies by Vitals contain up to 250 mg DHA (and 50 mg EPA) per chew jelly drop. The polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid DHA is an essential building block of nerve tissue in our brain. Less well known is that DHA is also part of the retina in our eye. The retina is formed from brain tissue during fetal development. This part of the eye therefore remains structurally part of our central nervous system. The retina consists of nerve cells that also have a high DHA content in their membranes. The retina captures the light we perceive and converts it into electrical signals that are then transmitted to our brain via the optic nerve.
Thus DHA plays an essential role for brain function as well as for vision, in both children and adults. The body is only able to produce DHA from its precursor (the essential omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid [ALA]) to a very limited extent. Therefore it is necessary to ensure a sufficient daily intake of DHA by either eating fish and/or taking a supplement with at least 250 mg DHA. Because omega-3 fatty acids are sensitive during processing into supplements, it is advisable to generally choose a high-quality fish oil from a reputable supplier. This is the case with the Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies. The omega-3 fatty acids in this product are present exclusively in triglyceride form, as this form is best absorbed by the body.
Vitamin D: good for bones and the immune system
Vitamin D is essential for the healthy development of bones and the functioning of the immune system.
Vitamin D is normally produced in the skin. In earlier times it was normal for children to spend enough time outdoors to produce it themselves. Parents who were young in the 70s and 80s will remember that they spent almost the whole day outside; that was common then and vitamin D supplementation was unnecessary. Today’s children mostly sit in front of PCs and smartphones. A vitamin D deficiency is therefore already almost inevitable in the long run.
But vitamin D deficiency in children is not only a modern phenomenon. Vitamin D deficiency became a real problem for the first time when rickets, a previously almost unknown childhood disease, ran rampant at the start of the industrial age. At first people puzzled over why children developed bowed bones and progressively wasted away, until it was discovered that an enormous vitamin D deficiency was the cause, brought on by excessive air pollution in cities so that the light no longer reached them. That children had to spend far too much time in dark apartments or in factory halls exacerbated the problem.
Today there is fortunately no mega-smog and no child labour. Unfortunately, kids now voluntarily sit in their rooms in front of their PCs all day. The light in a child’s room is unfortunately not sufficient to stimulate the skin to produce vitamin D.
The best-known function of vitamin D is its contribution to strong and healthy bones, as it helps, among other things, to increase the absorption of calcium from food and to ensure that sufficient calcium is available in the body to build strong bone tissue. This is particularly important in children whose skeletons are still developing. Vitamin D also contributes to strong teeth and has a positive effect on children’s immune systems. So there are even more reasons to ensure an adequate intake of this vitamin. Each chew jelly drop also contains some vitamin C, which contributes to good immune resilience.
Iodine: supports learning ability and growth
The importance of the trace element iodine should also not be underestimated. Iodine naturally occurs in algae, fish and seafood. It is also added to the salt used, among other things, in baking bread. This addition takes place because iodine intake in Western Europe is relatively low. Even so, people would still have to eat enough bread, which is not necessarily the case for everyone. Here, too, a dietary supplement can be helpful.
Iodine is important for normal thyroid function. It also plays a role in cognitive function and thus contributes to learning ability and concentration. Finally, it helps children to grow normally. Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies contain a safe dose of 22.5 μg iodine per chewable dragee.
Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies, a revolutionary supplement
These innovative chew jelly drops were developed in collaboration with the Norwegian manufacturer Vitux. Chew drops are becoming increasingly popular because this form of administration offers many advantages, such as a very pleasant taste and the possibility to add more active ingredients than in gummies. Especially for fat-containing nutrients (such as omega-3 fatty acids), chew drops offer another important advantage. Because the patented production process called ConCordix ensures that the fatty acids are divided into very small droplets, they can be absorbed even better by the body. Vitux was inspired by Mother Nature in this: the body itself also divides dietary fats into small droplets (a process called emulsification) to ensure that fats are properly digested and absorbed.
In addition, this form of chew drops combined with a special double aluminium packaging ensures excellent protection of the sensitive omega-3 fatty acids against oxidation. And finally, despite the high dose of fish oil and other nutrients, these chew jelly drops really taste good. Kids Omega-3-Plus-Jellies by Vitals are a very good example that healthy and tasty can go together!

Notes from EnergyVital
The drops are really very tasty, so keep them out of reach of children and explain that they are not sweets. Should a child nevertheless get hold of the pack and consume more than recommended, it is not a problem. A child could eat an entire pack of 60 drops without a dangerous poisoning occurring. You cannot poison yourself with vitamin C, iodine would have to be taken in the milligram range, and vitamin D is fat-soluble, meaning body fat tissue would buffer a single too-high intake. The only side effect would be severe diarrhoea, as xylitol has a laxative effect in larger amounts.
As fish gelatine is used and no gelatine from pork or beef, the product should be HalalKosherKosher (no guarantee, we are not specialists in such matters).
Storage instructions
Store cool, dry and protected from light (not in the fridge). The chew drops are in individual blister packs, so longer storage until the best-before date is possible even if a pack has already been opened.
Legal notice
The recommended daily consumption must not be exceeded. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of small children.
