Pure L-arginine in vegan capsules
There are around 500 amino acids found in nature. Of these, twenty amino acids serve as the building blocks for protein in the human body; they are known as ‘essential amino acids’. These essential amino acids can be divided into the categories ‘essential’, ‘semi-essential’ and ‘non-essential’. L-arginine is classified as a semi-essential amino acid, which means that the body can produce some of it itself, but relies partly on dietary intake to meet its daily requirements. In adults, the body produces arginine from the amino acids ornithine, glutamine, glutamate and proline; however, the amount of arginine obtained from food contributes significantly to the total arginine intake. As the body’s own synthesis is not yet sufficient, arginine is an essential amino acid for children and adolescents.
L-arginine is incorporated into proteins and can be converted into other amino acids such as ornithine and proline. Furthermore, arginine is the only substance from which the biochemical signalling molecule nitric oxide (NO) is produced. Arginine also serves as a precursor for creatine and polyamines.
This product uses the natural L-form, not the synthetic D-form.

Recommended intake
As a food supplement for adults, take 1–2 capsules per day with water between meals (at least half an hour before or two hours after eating).
Storage instructions
Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the fridge).
