Magnesium citrate – easily absorbed
This product contains 100 mg of magnesium in the easily
absorbable, organic form of magnesium citrate. Many
magnesium-containing products are available in tablet form, as they
offer more space for the magnesium. And these tablets are
often large, because magnesium takes up a great deal of space. Not everyone
finds it comfortable to take such large tablets. That is why
Vitals supplies this product in capsule form, which is easier to
swallow. If necessary, the capsule can also be opened so that
the contents can be mixed into something.
The capsule shell is made from pullulan, which is produced from cassava (an
edible root vegetable, also known as manioc).
To ensure the capsule is filled correctly, excipients derived from
rice are used.
The effects of magnesium in the body
The body contains around 21 to 28 grams of magnesium. Less than 1
% circulates in the blood; around 20 % is found in the muscles, 20 %
in other soft tissues and the liver, and around 60 % is stored in the
bones and teeth. Magnesium is therefore beneficial for the
muscles and important for maintaining strong bones and teeth.
It is also involved in more than 300 enzymatic processes.
Magnesium is an important cofactor for enzymes involved in
protein synthesis (the process by which proteins are
produced on the basis of DNA). It helps to maintain a good
electrolyte balance because it is a cofactor
for many enzymes involved in maintaining an
electrical potential across the cell membrane.
(Cells – particularly nerve and muscle cells – utilise the
electrical charge of electrolytes to conduct electrical impulses to and
from other cells, e.g. nerve impulses or
muscle contractions.) Magnesium is therefore involved in nerve conduction and
muscle contraction and is thus important for
muscle function, including that of the heart muscle. Furthermore,
an insufficient intake of magnesium can lead to fatigue. Magnesium
can help you get back on your feet in this case. It helps to
release energy from fats, carbohydrates and protein,
thereby supporting energy levels. It is also important for brain and
nerve functions, as these are responsible for aspects such as
concentration, memory and mood. And last but not
least, magnesium contributes to normal cell division and to
the production of cells and tissues.

Vitals, our new brand from 2025
We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: The highest quality, consistent omission of superfluous additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatine, very good value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and therefore also to customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of manufacturers of food supplements that are now on the market. But we have managed to find them again, with Vitals from the Netherlands!
Manufacturer's address: Vitals Voedingssupplementen BV, Pieter Lieftinckweg 29, 1505 HX Zaandam, Netherlands. E-mail: customer service@vitals.eu.
