Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from grape seeds
are present in Vitals OPC 100 mg in high
concentrations. These are bioflavonoids composed of catechin
and epicatechin building blocks. ‘Oligomer’
refers to specific proanthocyanidins that have a short
chain length. They actually have better
bioavailability than longer-chain proanthocyanidins.
OPCs, extracted from grape seeds, are among the most powerful natural antioxidants. They contribute to cell and tissue health by helping to neutralise free radicals. OPCs also have a positive effect on the heart and blood vessels and help to maintain healthy blood pressure. Finally, they help to protect the skin against ageing.
