Kaneka Q10 – Ubiquinone of the highest quality
Q10, or coenzyme Q10, is a natural substance found in the mitochondria of all body cells. The fat-soluble compound is called ubiquinone, which can be translated as "ubiquitous" or "present everywhere". The body obtains Q10 from two sources: its own production and from the diet. In certain life situations the body's own production of Q10 is not sufficient to meet requirements, which is why diet plays a greater role. Therefore Q10 is considered a (semi-)essential nutrient. After ingestion of Q10 it is predominantly converted into ubiquinol. If you use a dietary supplement that already contains ubiquinol (as in the Vitals products Ubiquinol 50 mg and Ubiquinol 100 mg), this conversion process is not necessary.
In addition to a high Q10 content, the product also provides natural vitamin E, d-alpha-tocopherol. In the body, vitamin E is an important (fat-soluble) antioxidant. It helps to preserve healthy cells and tissues by contributing to the protection of cells from oxidative damage.
