Kaneka Q10 – Ubiquinone of the highest quality
Q10 (also known as coenzyme Q10) is a natural substance found in all cells (in the mitochondria) of the body. The fat-soluble compound is called ubiquinone, which translates as "ubiquitous". The body obtains Q10 both from its own production and from the diet. In certain situations the body's own production of Q10 is not sufficient to meet demand, so dietary intake becomes more important. For this reason Q10 is considered a (semi-)essential nutrient. After oral intake Q10 is largely converted into ubiquinol. If you use a dietary supplement that already contains ready-made ubiquinol (as in the Vitals products Ubiquinol 50 mg and Ubiquinol 100 mg), this conversion process is not required.
The product contains, in addition to a high Q10 content, the natural vitamin E, d-alpha-tocopherol. In the body vitamin E acts as an important (fat-soluble) antioxidant. It contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative damage and thus helps to preserve healthy cells and tissues.
