There are over 130 species within the plant genus Rhodiola. The best known and most thoroughly researched species is Rhodiola rosea, also called roseroot, which occurs, among other places, in cold Siberia. Rhodiola has been used as a herbal remedy for more than 2,000 years. Rhodiola has an adaptogenic effect. That means Rhodiola can help maintain resistance to stress in demanding situations. It can also be helpful when tired. Rhodiola-LF from Vitals contains the high-quality Rhodiolife® extract, which comprises 5% rosavins and 1.8% salidroside, the main constituents of Rhodiola.
After a stressful period, fatigue can occur. Rhodiola helps with stress-related fatigue by supporting ATP production in the mitochondria.
