Active is more effective!

Most substances we take as vitamins must first be biochemically converted by the body before they can become truly effective.

Problems can arise in this process:

• The body may, due to congenital deficiencies, not be able to convert a substance at all, as can be the case with folic acid, for example.
• The conversion costs time and energy; the vitamin cannot act as quickly as if it had been taken directly in the correct form.
• Losses can occur during conversion, i.e. you may end up with less of the vitamin in your blood than was indicated in the nutrition table.

Therefore it makes more sense to take vitamins in the form the body actually needs. Such vitamin products usually include the descriptor “active” meaning “already activated”; nothing (or only a minimal amount) therefore needs to be converted.

For optimal effect it is recommended to take all B vitamins as a B complex, as they interact and depend on each other in many ways. If a high intake of a single B vitamin is desired, it is best to combine it with a B complex.

Vitamin B Complex Active contains a high dose of all B vitamins and related substances. Wherever possible, biologically active (coenzymatic) forms have been chosen. This applies to vitamin B2 (sodium riboflavin-5′-phosphate, R-5′-P), B6 (pyridoxal-5′-phosphate, 'P5P'), B12 (methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, also known as dibencozide) and folate (5-methyltetrahydrofolate, 5-MTHF). The advantage is that they do not first have to be converted before they can be used as coenzymes in metabolism. They are therefore body-native forms and often the forms in which B vitamins occur in food.

Recommended intake

Take 1 capsule daily with water at a meal.

Caution

This food supplement is not suitable for children up to and including 17 years of age (legally required notice for products with more than 7 mcg vitamin B6 per daily dose).
