Thiamine is the precursor of the biologically active form of vitamin B1, thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). Magnesium is required for the conversion of thiamine into TPP. Thiamine pyrophosphate, a coenzyme, plays a role in various reactions of energy metabolism, including the production of energy from fats, carbohydrates and proteins. This function is relevant for the energy metabolism of all cells, including those of the heart and the nervous system, thereby supporting the normal function of the heart and nervous system. It also plays a role in brain and nerve functions, as these are responsible for things like concentration, memory and mood. The product Vitamin B1 250 mg by Vitals contains a high amount of pure thiamine. The raw material is enclosed in a plant-based capsule made from cassava and is supplemented with an excipient from rice. If you use or recommend vitamin B1, ideally do so together with a multivitamin preparation or a vitamin B complex (because the effects of the B vitamins reinforce each other).
