Niacin (Vitamin B3) – flush-free
As a constituent of two essential coenzymes in the body, NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and NADP (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate), Vitamin B3 promotes energy production. Over two hundred specific enzymes (dehydrogenases) important for electron transport and cellular respiration (dissimilation) are activated by these two substances. Cellular respiration is the process in which ATP (adenosine triphosphate, a carrier of chemical energy) is produced in a mitochondrion (the 'powerhouse' of the cell) through the oxidation of nutrients. Vitamin B3 may help reduce fatigue. It is also beneficial for the skin, mucous membranes, the nervous system and mental health.
Vitamin B3 is available in two forms: niacin (also called nicotinic acid) and niacinamide (also called nicotinamide). Niacin is known to cause a 'flush', where the skin becomes red and warm, often accompanied by burning, stinging and/or itchy sensations. Niacinamide, a form of niacin with an added amide group, does not cause a 'niacin flush'.
The pure form of Vitamin B3 500 mg from Vitals provides a high dose. The active ingredient is enclosed in a plant-based capsule made from cassava and is complemented with an excipient derived from rice. Use or preferably recommend Vitamin B3 together with a B‑complex or multivitamin (as B vitamins act strongly synergistically).

Vitals, our new brand from 2025
We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: highest quality, the consistent omission of unnecessary additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatin, excellent value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and thus to our customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of dietary supplement manufacturers now on the market. But we have once again managed to find one with Vitals from the Netherlands!
Address of the manufacturer: Vitals Voedingssupplementen BV, Pieter Lieftinckweg 29, 1505 HX Zaandam, Netherlands. E-mail: kundendienst@vitals.eu.
