Pure L-glutamine powder for the right amount
At 20 per cent, L-glutamine accounts for the largest proportion of amino acids in
our bodies. It is found mainly in
muscle cells, where it is also produced.
As a key component in the synthesis of proteins,
L-glutamine plays a central role in the metabolism of plants,
animals, fungi and bacteria. It is found in large quantities in
wheat protein, dairy products, soya (soya protein) and maize
(maize protein).
L-glutamine is important as a precursor for glutathione,
glutamic acid and GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid).
In powder form, it is particularly well suited to people who measure out their own glutamine or prefer to take it in drinks, protein shakes, muesli or similar foods.
What L-glutamine does
L-glutamine is a key building block for the production of
glutathione, a sulphur-containing amino acid that combats free radicals
in the body.
Some of the L-glutamine is converted into glutamic acid.
Glutamic acid can bind ammonia, a waste product of our
normal metabolism. Furthermore, L-glutamine is the precursor for
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). GABA is an important neurotransmitter
in the brain and promotes the release of somatotropin.
