Pure L-glutamine powder for the right amount
L-glutamine makes up the largest proportion of amino acids in our body, at 20%. It is found mainly in muscle cells, where it is also produced.
As an important component in protein synthesis, L-glutamine plays a central role in the metabolism of plants, animals, fungi and bacteria. It is present in large amounts in wheat protein, dairy products, soya (soya protein) and maize (maize protein).
L-glutamine is important as a precursor for glutathione, glutamic acid and GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid).
As a powder it is particularly suitable for people who prefer to dose glutamine themselves or take it in drinks, protein shakes, muesli or similar.
What L-glutamine does
L-glutamine is an important building block for the production of glutathione, a sulphur-containing amino acid that combats free radicals in the body.
Part of the L-glutamine is converted into glutamic acid. Glutamic acid can bind ammonia, a waste product of our normal metabolism. In addition, L-glutamine is the precursor for GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). GABA is an important neurotransmitter in the brain and promotes the release of somatotropin.
