The sulphur-containing amino acid L-methionine is essential; it must be obtained from the diet. Good sources include Brazil nuts and walnuts, meat, salmon, eggs and soya beans.

Vitamin B6 is present as a highly bioactive compound (pyridoxal-5-phosphate), which is 10 times more effective than standard vitamin B6. It contains no other additives, meaning that WOSCHA L-Methionine Plus is very well tolerated and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Functions of L-methionine
L-methionine is the ‘starting amino acid’ in protein synthesis
and the precursor to the sulphur-containing amino acids
L-cysteine and taurine. Unlike many other amino acids, L-methionine can easily cross the blood-brain barrier.
L-methionine is also a co-factor in the production of hormones
and neurotransmitters (e.g. adrenaline, serotonin), choline and
histidine. Its sulphur is required for the formation of
sulphur bridges in the structural protein keratin.
