NAC plus N-acetyl-L-cysteine for sulphur supply and cell protection

The amino acid L-cysteine is a source of sulphur for our body. It is important for the formation of many proteins (e.g. creatine and insulin) and can stabilise their structure by forming sulphur bridges.

As L-cysteine oxidises easily to cystine and loses almost 85% of its valuable sulphur groups during digestion, we use the more stable N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) in our dietary supplement. This provides the body with almost six times more sulphur groups than L-cysteine. NAC also has a greater protein-synthesising effect than the pure amino acid.
