Omega-3 fatty acids – the ‘good’ fats
Omega-3 fatty acids are found primarily in sea fish and are a key reason why fish is considered so healthy. As essential fatty acids, omega-3s must be obtained through diet. From the foetal stage right through to old age, an adequate supply of omega-3 is of great importance for our well-being and development (see nutritional properties).
WOSCHA Omega 3 – strictly controlled quality
WOSCHA Omega 3 contains both the omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) as well as vitamin E to optimise shelf life. The fatty acids are derived from high-quality NOW fish oil concentrate. Production takes place under the strictest controls, thereby ensuring excellent quality.
Nutritional properties
- DHA helps maintain normal brain function and normal vision (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA).
- EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA + EPA).
- Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
