Omega-3 fatty acids – the "good" fats
Omega-3 fatty acids are primarily found in marine fish and are a key reason why fish is considered so healthy. As essential fatty acids, omega-3s must be obtained through the diet. Even for the foetus and into advanced age, adequate omega-3 intake is of great importance for our wellbeing and development (see nutritive properties).
WOSCHA Omega 3 – strictly controlled quality
WOSCHA Omega 3 contains both the omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) as well as Vitamin E for optimised shelf life. The fatty acids are derived from the high-quality NOW fish oil concentrate. Production is carried out under the strictest controls and thus ensures excellent quality.
Nutritive Properties
- DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and to the maintenance of normal vision (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA).
- EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (these beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA + EPA).
- Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain a normal blood cholesterol level.
