Vitamin C plus natural absorption promoters
Vitamin C as isolated ascorbic acid has only low bioavailability. Therefore citrus bioflavonoids and rosehip have been added to improve absorption. 50% of the bioflavonoids consist of hesperetin, a secondary plant compound that supports vitamin C in cell protection. In addition, natural vitamin C from rosehip is included.
500 mg ascorbic acid corresponds to the ideal daily dose if one wishes to take more. Suitable both for rapid additional vitamin C supply and for long-term supply in cases of a generally increased requirement (physical exertion, smoking, constant stress, oral contraceptives).
Using only natural vitamin C, e.g. from acerola, would become very expensive. Enriching L-ascorbic acid with natural vitamin C and bioflavonoids ensures it is more likely to be absorbed by the body as if it were natural, compared with taking ascorbic acid in isolation.
Nutritional properties
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise (this effect is achieved only with an additional intake of 200 mg vitamin C).
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of blood vessels, bones and cartilage as well as skin and teeth.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to the normal function of the nervous system and to normal psychological function, and helps reduce tiredness and fatigue.
- Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and increases iron absorption.
- Vitamin C contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
