Our bones are so hard that we hardly think of them as living tissue that is constantly being built up and broken down. But as early as the mid-30s the balance of bone-maintaining processes shifts. With each year of life we lose more bone mass, especially after the hormonal changes of the menopause.
Particularly as we age, more attention should be paid to supplying the body with important bone nutrients.

Strong combination for strong bones

Calcium and phosphorus give bones and teeth their strength. Bone Calcium contains hydroxyapatite, the natural building material of our bones. MCH-Cal, the hydroxyapatite from the New Zealand company Waitiki Enterprises, is obtained from bovine bones and comes 100% from free-range farming, with no antibiotics or growth promoters administered. There has also never been a case of BSE in New Zealand.
Calcium and magnesium are present in the optimal 2:1 ratio. This improves their bioavailability and utilisation. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and vitamin K2 promote the incorporation of calcium into bone. Vitamin D3 is substantially more effective than vitamin D2 and vitaMK7® is the biologically most effective form of vitamin K2, which also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.

Zinc, copper, manganese and boron round off the nutrient spectrum. They also have important roles in maintaining a strong and stable bone structure.
