The consumption of fish or the use of fish oil was previously regarded as the ideal natural source of omega-3 fatty acids for humans. It is an apparent contradiction when you consider that most fish get their high omega-3 content from their food, algae. Algae oil is a vegetable oil that is extracted directly from algae. It is one of the most effective natural sources of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which are polyunsaturated fatty acids from the extremely valuable omega-3 fatty acid class. Algae oil is the obvious environmentally and animal-friendly alternative to fish oil - and not just for vegetarians and vegans.

Turmeric and omega-3 fatty acids

Turmeric, also known as Indian saffron or golden spice, belongs to the ginger family. The turmeric plant has tuberous rhizomes (rootstocks) that grow underground. The typical yellow colour is due to the so-called curcuminoids. These are secondary plant substances that are extracted from the rhizomes. Turmeric is now the subject of many scientific studies, as it has numerous positive properties. For example, a recognised scientific study from Iran confirms the added health benefits of a daily combination of turmeric and omega-3 fatty acids.***

Details of the ingredients

• Schizochytrium algae are unicellular microalgae found in tropical waters. They naturally produce large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA, which can be directly utilised by the human body. This is in contrast to a-linolenic acid, which must first be converted into these two fatty acids and competes with the omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid.
• Sacha inchi, also known as the Inca nut, is an extraordinary plant. Its almost balanced ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids of almost 1:1 makes it a source of one of the best oils in the world. Sacha inchi oil has the highest content of polyunsaturated fatty acids and is particularly rich in alpha-linolenic acid, a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid. It also contains a large amount of vitamin E and other antioxidants that protect against oxidative stress.
• Turmeric is a seasoning made from the intensely yellow-coloured rhizome of the curcuma plant. The typical colouring is due to the curcuminoids. Due to its many positive properties, curcuma is now the subject of intensive research.
• Vitamin D is actually a hormone that can be produced in our skin by UV-B radiation. If sunlight is not sufficient, there are only a limited number of foods that can fulfil the vitamin D requirement. The vitamin is very important for calcium metabolism and our immune system.
• Rapeseed oil: Compared to sunflower and olive oil (omega-6/omega-3 ratio: 282:1 and 10:1 respectively), rapeseed oil is an excellent source of omega-3 with an excellent ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 (1.7:1). It can be sourced regionally and is characterised by its particular sustainability. Rapeseed oil contains vitamin E, an important antioxidant found in all human membranes. It protects the omega fatty acids from being destroyed by free radicals, so it is not surprising that it is also ideal as a complementary food oil for babies. Rapeseed oil contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant source of omega-3 fatty acids, which is important for health.
• Vitamin E: It protects omega-3 fatty acids from oxidation and thus contributes to their anti-inflammatory effect by reducing harmful oxidative stress. This synergy is particularly important for heart health, as omega-3 improves blood lipid levels and vitamin E prevents the deposition of oxidised fats in the blood vessels. Together they contribute to the stability of cell membranes and increase bioavailability in the body, which further enhances their effectiveness.
• Omega 3 Orange contains a medicinal herbal complex comprising 18 plant extracts known for their health-promoting properties. This provides a valuable additional benefit. Herbs such as angelica, masterwort and quendel, which have been carefully selected, are traditionally valued for their properties. Recommended dosage

Take 5 ml undiluted daily with the main meal. No age restriction for children. The intake recommendations for adults apply. IMPORTANT: If possible, always take the oil with the main meal. This is because fat digestion only takes place if the food also contains fat. And this is a prerequisite for the effective absorption of omega-3 fatty acids.

Storage instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from light (not in the refrigerator).
