How GR10 Ultra supports gut health
GR10 Ultra is a dietary supplement that supports the regeneration
of the gut microbiome following a course of antibiotics.
The aim of antibiotic treatment is to rid the gut of all
disease-causing germs, but unfortunately the ‘good’ bacteria
are also eliminated in the process.
Once you have finished taking the antibiotics, the gut begins to
repopulate itself. It is now important to ensure that it is repopulated
with ‘good’ bacteria rather than ‘bad’ ones.
Sources of harmful bacteria can include, for example, an unhealthy
diet or a partner with poor gut flora
(which is passed on through everyday contact or, for example, through kissing
). The same applies to children and pets.
You automatically pick up germs from them too during the repopulation process,
and in the worst-case scenario, these may be less beneficial ones.
The gut is a vast ecosystem containing more bacteria than there are
stars in the universe, and a small proportion of these will
always consist of ‘bad’ bacteria.
The aim, therefore, is not to eliminate the ‘bad’ ones 100 per cent, as
that is not possible, but to maintain the mass of ‘good’ bacteria, such as
those contained in Gr10-Ultra, at a level high enough that the
‘bad’ ones are suppressed and no longer have any effect.
The lactic acid bacteria contained in the product are true all-rounders when
it comes to regenerating the microbiome following
a course of antibiotics. Each of the 10 selected strains has
specific roles in rebuilding an intact,
high-performing gut flora.
The bifidobacteria B. bifidum, B. breve, B. lactis and B. longum
are essential components of a healthy gut flora. From
birth, they colonise the gut and, in adulthood,
make up the majority of the microorganisms in the large intestine [1]. Once they have
reached their destination, they break down indigestible carbohydrates such as
dietary fibre into short-chain fatty acids [2]. They act not
only as a source of energy for the intestinal mucosa, but also as
inhibitors of the growth of potentially pathogenic bacteria [3].
The beneficial bifidobacteria thus create an environment in which
other helpful gut inhabitants can thrive and colonise.
Members of the Lactobacillus genus are regarded as true
all-rounders when it comes to gut health. L.
acidophilus, L. casei, L. paracasei, L. plantarum and L. rhamnosus
can convert lactose into lactic acid, thereby positively influencing the pH
in the gut [4]. They make it more difficult for undesirable
bacteria to colonise the intestinal mucosa.
Research has shown that carefully selected
Lactobacillus strains can accelerate the recovery of the microbiome following
antibiotic-induced disruption [5, 6]. They help to
maintain diversity, promote beneficial symbiotic bacteria
and improve the gut’s barrier function [7].
The spectrum of GR10 Ultra is complemented by Streptococcus thermophilus
. This bacterium is best known in yoghurt production
, where, together with Lactobacillus bulgaricus, it causes the milk
to thicken. In the gut, S. thermophilus helps to counteract
antibiotic-induced changes in the composition of the microbiota
[8]. It promotes the colonisation of other
lactic acid bacteria and thus contributes to a
diverse microbiome [9].
The 10 bacterial cultures in GR10 Ultra work together to comprehensively and holistically support the gut’s natural regenerative processes. A healthy balance of the gut flora is restored more quickly by promoting beneficial bacteria and inhibiting harmful microbes. This not only benefits digestion, but also the gut-associated immune system, which relies on an intact gut barrier and a stable microbiome [10].
GR10 Ultra – effective support for your gut flora
The 10 selected bacterial strains work synergistically to restore and stabilise the intestinal ecosystem that has been disrupted following a course of antibiotics. Thanks to the gentle processing in DR Caps, it is ensured that the sensitive microorganisms exert their effect exactly where they are needed. GR10 Ultra not only promotes digestion and gut health, but also makes a significant contribution to strengthening the immune system . With a daily dose of 14 billion bacteria, this supplement quickly and reliably restores your gut flora – for greater inner well-being.
The DRcaps® capsules, which are enteric-coated and vegan, protect the lactic acid bacteria from stomach acid, so that they only take full effect once they reach the gut.
GR10-Lactis with 10 strains of lactic acid bacteria
Lactic acid bacteria enable the production of cheese, yoghurt, buttermilk or crème fraîche from milk. GR10-Lactis is ideal for long-term use, even for people with lactose intolerance, as it contains 10 different strains registered with the German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ):
- Bifidobacterium bifidum (LA13040®)
- Bifidobacterium breve (LA13050®)
- Bifidobacterium lactis (LA13070®)
- Bifidobacterium longum (LA13080®)
- Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA13100®)
- Lactobacillus casei (LA13120®)
- Lactobacillus paracasei (LA13190®)
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus (LA13220®)
- Lactobacillus plantarum (LA13200®)
- Streptococcus thermophilus (LA13290®)
‘Live lactic acid cultures’ do not keep for long and must be consumed quickly. To guarantee a best-before date of 18 months, WOSCHA’s bacterial cultures GR10-Lactis are therefore gently freeze-dried in a matrix of vegan material. The gastro-resistant DRcaps® ensure that the bacteria survive the passage through the gastrointestinal tract unscathed. They only dissolve in the lower part of the small intestine, where they are reactivated.
The added dietary fibre, inulin, consists of short-chain complex sugars known as fructooligosaccharides (also called oligofructoses).
Significantly improved in 2025!
We guarantee that each capsule contains 14 billion lactic acid bacteria right up to the best-before date. Previously, there were 3 billion per capsule, and even then the product was of very high quality and has been very popular for years under the brand name Woscha Gr. 10-Latis. Now it’s unbeatable: the slight price increase is significantly lower than the improvement in quality brought about by the new edition under the Podomedi brand natura felix!
DRcaps® capsules – for reliable, targeted delivery of all nutrients
Broadly speaking, digestion consists of 4 stages:
- The oral cavity, where some nutrients can already be absorbed . That is why these should preferably be taken as lozenges or drops, e.g. vitamin B12 or melatonin.
- The stomach, with its aggressive acid. In rare cases,
it is beneficial for nutrients to be exposed to the acid. For example,
the acid’s main function is to denature the proteins in food
in order to prepare them for breakdown in the small intestine.
Very often, however, it is better to protect these substances from the acid
.
- The small intestine. This is where the main part of digestion takes place.
Shortly after the stomach empties into the small intestine, the latter has two
openings in its wall: one through which bile flows into
the small intestine to aid the digestion of fats, and the other through which enzymes
from the pancreas are released.
- The large intestine. Very little further breakdown of food and digestion takes place here, but it is nevertheless important; for example, toxins are absorbed here – ideally from the abundant fibre in the diet, but unfortunately, in the case of a fibre-free diet, also from the intestinal wall. Some substances are also broken down here and provide further important nutrients for the body or for the gut bacteria. Substances that promote or improve this process are called probiotics.
A standard gelatine capsule or a cheap cellulose capsule would dissolve in the stomach and release the bacteria. This can lead to three problems:
- The bacteria are damaged by the acid and no longer reach the large intestine – their site of action – in sufficient quantities.
- There are substances in capsules which, unfortunately, taste or
smell unpleasant when taken on their own. For example, because they are bitter or contain sulphur.
You wouldn’t want these in your mouth, but nor would you want the taste
in your mouth if some of it comes back up
through belching.
- Cases have already been reported where the bacteria found their way into the bile duct, migrated through it into the liver and led to life-threatening conditions. The body is, of course, not adequately protected against this, as in a normal diet it is not common for highly concentrated strains of live bacteria to be released into the stomach, unless through spoiled food!
Gastric-resistant capsules such as DRCaps do not dissolve in the stomach
but make their way into the small intestine and a few
centimetres further, past the two duct nipples, into an
area where the dissolution of the capsule is no longer a problem,
neither for the capsule’s contents nor for our health.
Strictly speaking, DRCaps are not completely enteric-coated.
Such capsules do exist; they are sometimes used in medicine
and are considerably more expensive than DRCaps. DR-Caps merely
result in delayed dissolution (‘Delayed Release’,
abbreviation: DR). This means that the dissolution of the capsules is delayed
until they are, in any case, in the small intestine and no longer in the stomach
. The capsules only begin to disintegrate around 50 minutes after ingestion,
unlike conventional capsules, which disintegrate as early as
5 minutes later. A further 20 minutes later, they are
completely dissolved, and the active ingredients are fully released into the small intestine,
where they are absorbed through the small intestinal wall.
This reduces their loss compared with
non-gastric-resistant capsules.
However, these beneficial properties are not achieved through the use of chemicals. The capsules are 100% plant-based (vegan) and gluten-free. They are also free from chemical additives and solvents. They also hold Halal and Kosher certificates. They therefore meet the various requirements for a product that is natural, healthy and pure.

High-quality formulations from the Netherlands
Podo medi's products are significantly influenced by the naturopathic experience of its co-founder Wolfgang P. Schallmey. However, he has been retired since 2020, which is why the "Woscha" brand has become the "natura felix" brand. The tried-and-tested recipes will remain largely the same. In addition to the logo, the packaging of many products will change significantly. The company is increasingly switching from plastic to more environmentally friendly cardboard cans.
