Ascorbyl palmitate – the fat-soluble form of vitamin C

Ascorbyl palmitate is a special form of vitamin C, formed from ascorbic acid and palmitic acid. Normally, vitamin C is only water-soluble. Ascorbyl palmitate, however, has the distinctive feature of being both water- AND fat-soluble. This has the advantage that the vitamin C can reach areas of the cell which it would not normally be able to access if it were purely water-soluble. As vitamin C helps to protect the cell from oxidative stress, this property is particularly useful.
Ascorbic palmitate can also cross the blood-brain barrier and exert a positive effect there too, thanks to its nutritional properties .

Compared to conventional vitamin C, this special form can also be stored in the body.
WOSCHA ascorbyl palmitate is in a buffered form and is therefore very well tolerated.
