Women's gut health
Some conditions affect women significantly more often than men, including osteoarthritis, heart disease, cancer, depression and anxiety disorders. The gut microbiome has been shown to have a major influence on how these diseases develop. The composition of the gut microbiome also varies in numerous specific women's conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, breast, cervical and ovarian cancer, as well as during pregnancy, menstruation and the menopause.(1)
