Most effective form of vitamin D
Orthomolecular experts have long been familiar with the importance of
vitamin D supplementation. Governmental institutions in Europe have
also for some time been advising certain target groups to take vitamin
D supplements. There is therefore broad agreement that vitamin D
supplementation is necessary, especially in countries with limited
sun exposure. It is indeed a challenge to obtain sufficient amounts of
this important vitamin through the diet. However, the ideal dosage of
vitamin D should be considered individually. It depends, among other
things, on age, body composition, lifestyle and the season, as well as
on the blood vitamin D level, if this has been measured.
The Vitals drops with vitamin D3 (1000 IE) contain at least 25 µg
vitamin D3 per drop. The practical dropper allows easy and precise
dosing. It is a preparation for adults and children aged 11 and over
who prefer drops to tablets or capsules. It is also easy to adjust the
dosage of vitamin D3 as required. While many vitamin D products in
drop form nowadays use MCT oil, Vitals deliberately chooses a special
sunflower oil that naturally contains little omega‑6 and over 75% omega‑9.
This oil has a fatty acid composition similar to olive oil but a more
neutral taste.
An optimal supply of vitamin D is of great importance
Over the past decades, knowledge about the role and importance of
vitamin D for the human body has grown enormously. Researchers have
discovered receptors for vitamin D in more than 30 different tissues
and organs, including immune cells, muscles and bones. This means that
the effects of vitamin D are far‑reaching and that it supports health
in many ways. Above all, it is known that vitamin D is good for teeth
and bones. Vitamin D is necessary for the absorption/utilisation of
calcium and phosphorus from the diet and for maintaining normal blood
levels of these two nutrients. These minerals are required for the
mineralisation of teeth and bones.
Vitamin D is also beneficial for muscles, as a vitamin D receptor
is present in muscle tissue. Its activation increases protein
production in muscles, which is important for their function.
Vitamin D also plays a role in cell division and the formation of new
cells and tissues. In addition, vitamin D has an immunomodulatory
effect, meaning it regulates processes in the immune system. Vitamin
D receptors are found on T helper cells, a type of white blood cell
that plays a key role in certain immunological processes. In this way
vitamin D acts in many different ways in connection with our complex
immune system. In summary: an optimal vitamin D status is of utmost
importance for our health. It is no coincidence that in most
countries the use of vitamin D supplements is recommended.
High‑oleic sunflower oil: low in omega‑6 and, like olive oil, naturally rich in oleic acid (omega‑9)
When choosing a suitable oil base we considered various factors such
as taste, stability, composition and shelf life. We chose a sunflower
oil whose fatty acid profile is naturally very similar to that of
olive oil. Like olive oil, this so‑called high‑oleic sunflower oil
contains at least 75% of the monounsaturated fatty acid oleic acid
(omega‑9). The linoleic acid (omega‑6) content is also low, comparable
to the omega‑6 content of olive oil. The taste, however, is rather
neutral. An additional advantage of high‑oleic sunflower oil is its
stability.
Because of these properties, high‑oleic sunflower oil is often used in infant formula. It is therefore excellent for liquid food supplements. The high‑oleic sunflower oil contained in Vitals vitamin D3 1000 IE drops comes from European sunflower plants that are grown naturally (i.e. without genetic modification) and have a high omega‑9 content in their seeds.

What weight or volume does a drop have?
For oils and aqueous solutions in dropper bottles or ones with pipettes, drops are a popular and practical measure. Unfortunately, however, they are in fact very imprecise.
Anyone who wants or needs to know precisely for dosing and planning their medications or dietary supplements:
A drop of water has approximately 0.05 ml or 0.05 g or 50 mg.
Oil has a different density and a different dripping behaviour to water. Therefore:
A drop of oil has approximately 0.04 ml or 0.35 g or 35 mg.
Vitals, our new brand from 2025
We are constantly on the lookout for brands that represent our ideals: highest quality, the consistent omission of unnecessary additives such as titanium dioxide or porcine gelatin, excellent value for money and absolute reliability in delivery to us and thus to our customers.
This is very difficult because such companies are extremely rare among the mass of dietary supplement manufacturers now on the market. But we have once again managed to find one with Vitals from the Netherlands!

35 mg.
