Tocotrienols – the superior vitamin E
Tocotrienols have a markedly higher effect as an antioxidant compared with tocopherols, which are commonly added to vitamin E preparations. Tocotrienols differ from the vitamin E tocopherols only in the side chain. While the side chains of the vitamin E tocopherols are fully saturated, tocotrienols have a triple-unsaturated side chain. These unsaturated double bonds result in a substantially higher protective activity in tocotrienols. Tocotrienol is more agile, allowing it to rotate and move within the cell membrane and to move from one cell membrane into others. This provides considerable benefit for the human body, because a tocotrienol can protect the space of several membranes of a cell. Over the last 10 years, scientific studies have reported health-protective properties of tocotrienols that are not found in tocopherols. Tocotrienols have been shown to provide a 40-fold higher antioxidant protection against lipid peroxidation in cell membranes.
WOSCHA Tocotrienols & E-Complex contains the full spectrum of vitamin E. The tocopherols are extracted from sunflower using the patented Sun-E 900TM- process. The four tocotrienols are derived from rice oil and are also provided here in the patented VegeTocTM- form. The product is both highly bioavailable and well tolerated.
