Calcium – not just important for bones

Calcium is best known as a component of bones and teeth. However, the importance of this essential nutrient is much more diverse. Calcium also plays an important role in the normal function of muscles, signal transmission between nerve cells and the normal function of blood clotting. As it can only be obtained through the diet, it is important to ensure an adequate supply. This becomes even more important in certain life stages: for example in children during growth phases, during increased stress or athletic activity, or for women after the menopause.

10–12 years: 6 capsules daily (540 mg calcium)
13–18 years: 6 capsules daily (540 mg calcium)
